Stk#102 1966 Pontiac GTO

Complete frame off restoration, purchased from Durham NC as show on window sticker.  Frame stripped and painted.  All new gas lines and brake lines, original Night Watch Blue exterior with blue interior.  Originally a 389 4-barrel car with 4-speed. Rear end is a 2:73 gear.

Painted a Night watch Blue that is slick and straight and beautiful.  New drivers mirror, new wheel well moldings, new Rocker panel moldings, new emblems, new bumpers, new grill, new head lights and trim, new turn signal lights, new tail lights and moldings, new trunk and side trim, new window moldings, new glass and rubber and felt, new door handles, new locks.  New body moldings, new wiper arms and blades, new Rally rims, center caps, trim rings and BF Goodrich radial T/A tires, 4-wheel power disc brakes.  Underside of car looks new.  New inner fenders, new trunk pan, two new floors, all rust cut out and replaced.  Looks better than new.

New Parchment interior on bucket seats, door panels, arm rest and bases are parchment and new.  Black carpet, dash pad, head liner, sun visors are all new.  Dash cluster black and gauges with Tach are all new.  Vintage Heat and Air, new wood grain steering wheel, Auto Gauge gauges mounted under dash, new door handles and window cranks, new door panel moldings, new Sun visor support brackets, new rear view mirror, Classic Auto A/C, console was sent off and re-chromed and repainted.  New ash trays, new kick panels, new package tray, new sill plates, aftermarket AM/FM/CD radio, new gas pedal, brake and clutch.  New Pontiac rubber floor mats.  Looks like new inside.

The 389 engine was rebuilt by David Shearon with a 455 Stroker kit.  Ross pistons, new Edelbrock aluminum heads, estimated at 500 HP, Stage 4 headers, Pontiac, original 1966 period correct 3x2 carb setup rebuilt and rejetted for 455 by Mikes Tri Powers.  HD aluminum radiator, 4-speed transmission rebuilt by Jason Spellman with McLeod clutch.  Centerforce was removed.  New Pontiac chrome valve covers and 3x2 air cleaners.  Power steering, power booster and master cylinder all new.  All new belts and hoses, new wiper motor, new hood insulation, new dual exhaust.  Very well detailed under the hood.  Sounds good.  Runs and handles good.
